Latch and Paint was born out of my lifelong passion for art. As a child, I found solace in drawing, coloring in my Lisa Frank books, or creating abstract paintings on a canvas. When I became a mother, my priorities naturally shifted, but I discovered that painting with vibrant colors during my breastfeeding sessions was incredibly therapeutic!
One day, during a Tampa Bay Breastfeeding Taskforce meeting, the topic of discussion was "What should we do to celebrate black breastfeeding week?” So, during my quiet time with God, he gave me a vision: I could combine breastfeeding with painting! I often felt excluded from traditional sip-and-paint events because I couldn't bring my baby along, and I knew other mothers likely felt the same way. This realization led to the creation of Latch and Paint, a space where mothers can embrace their creativity and bond with their babies simultaneously.
